Clog!! You'll learn the basic techniques for this traditional Appalachian dance, more intermediate steps, and how you might try it when you're calling or inactive in a square. We'll go through some dances that you could do with beginners, and some that are a little more complicated. Basic square dance terminology and how to teach it. Stringband Workshop Atlas Stringband Singing Waltzes Laurel Bliss & friends 5:30-6:45PM What Tunes Work & Why Nancy, Bill, Sandy, & friends Dance workshop with some discussion. Dancers need to find their own comfort level - as do the musicians - with what tunes work. We can discuss working with bands you don't know, working with bands you do know, "safety" tunes/tune types, and how some dances go with some tunes better than others.
