PEARLY GATES Corners drop hands, partners take inside hands. Couples move forward, evens raising an arch and odds ducking through it. Couples turn around and repeat the above to place. All is done again with evens now ducking under the odds' arch. [Open Up Them Pearly Gates; Smith] [Pearly Gates; Bonner]   Open Up Them Pearly Gates You go high, we go low Shake them feet, don't go slow Circle four, in the middle of the floor. ~ Smith Corners drop hands, partners take inside hands. Couples move forward, odds arching over evens. Without turning around, couples step backward to place, evens arching over odds. Repeat all above. Evens stand in place while odds move forward and arch over them. Odds california twirl and walk their arch back over the evens. They turn as a couple, gent moving forward and lady backing up, and pass under the odds' second arch. Evens turn as a couple at home. [Morgantown Fig. 4; Dalsemer] OCEAN WAVE Odds take skaters' promenade hold. Evens drop hands. Odds move forward four steps between the evens while evens move forward singly. Odds turn around without dropping hands and step back to place while the evens turn alone and move back to place. Repeat all above, this time evens are in the center taking skaters' hold and leading. In this version the odds don't go forward and return but rather go forward and all the way around the promenading evens. Odd gent goes cw around, odd lady ccw, pass right shouders behind the evens continuing to home where they swing into place just in time. [Ocean Wave Variation; Napier] [Ocean Wave Variation; Bonner]   Oceay up (Pronounced "Oh She") Oceay back Oceay around that outside track Circle four ~ Napier Odds take skaters' promenade hold. Evens drop hands. Odds move forward four steps between evens, turn around and return to place. At the same time, evens go forward and all the way around the promenading odds. Even gent goes cw around, even lady ccw, pass right shouders behind the odds continuing to home where they swing into place just in time. Repeat all above with evens taking skaters' hold and leading. [Ocean Wave C; Smith]   Same call as #1 or #2 above. Odds take skaters' promenade hold. Evens drop hands. Odds move forward four steps between evens as evens walk forward singly and pass the odds. Both couples, partners join inside hands and turn as couples, man backing up and lady going forward. Repeat above with evens taking skaters' hold and odds walking singly. Turn as couples to place. Allemande right corners. [Ocean Wave; Levin]   Ocean wave. Between this couple Circle four, etc. Odds take skaters' promenade hold. Evens drop hands. Odds move forward four steps between evens as evens walk forward singly. Without turning around, both couples back up to place. Repeat above with evens taking skaters' hold and leading. [Ocean Wave A; Smith]   Same call as #1 or #2 above. All drop hands. Odds split evens, odd gent goes cw around even gent while odd lady goes cww around even lady and back to place. I'll swing yours and you swing mine, etc. ~ Rohrbough p.19 -- ~ As called by Henry Duitt of Leaksville, Green Co., Mississippi Couples drop hands but keep partner's hand. Both couples back up about four steps, then move forward to meet again. Odd couple drop hands and separate, veering around evens. Odds do-si-do (back-to-back) behind evens, then separate again and return to place. Evens now repeat the above.
