- All drop hands but odds keep inside hands joined.
Odds raise an arch and go forward over
the even lady. Without turning around, odds step to the left and
back the arch over the

- Couple one circles with couple two. Gent one releases corner
and couple three step into
the gap, reforming the circle. Continue circling, then break and
couples promenade ccw.
Gents turn back and swing with the ladies behind. Promenade single
file with the gent
following the woman he has just swung. Gents turn back and swing
the next lady behind,
again promenading single behind that lady. Finally, gents turn
back and swing partners
and all circle left. Gent one releases corner, couple four steps
into the gap and all the

- A variation of duck for the oyster. Couple one circles with
couple two. Gent one releases corner and
couple three step into the gap, reforming the circle. Continue
circling, then advance and
retire with a shout. Couple one ducks under any arch made by the
other dancers, pulling
all through. As the ones pass through the arch they turn away from
each other, lifting their
joined hands in an arch over their own heads. The ones walk their
own arch forward over
the top of the others and resume circling left. Gent one releases
corner, couple four steps

A variation, combining Duck For The Oyster with the Grand March: One of the gents releases corner and all squares form
one large circle moving cw. The
break is danced (see Intros, Breaks and Endings 5 below,) ending
in a promenade. Then
all join in a circle and and dance "Dive for the Oyster" as in 2
above, lead couple
designated by caller. Dance the break, ending in a promenade. Lead
couple leads into
grand march, beginning by promenading in a line up the center.
Couples cast off at the
top, alternating left and right, and head south in two parallel
lines of couples. At the
bottom, couples wheel around and march back up in lines of four.
The lines cast off right
and left at the top, go down the sides, wheel at the bottom and
come back up in lines of
eight. Those lines again cast off right and left, then each line
joins in a circle of eight,
reforming the original squares. Dance The Break and The Ending

- (Singing call.) Gent one swings lady two and
brings her back to circle three with lady
one. Gent one leaves to swing lady three and brings her back to
the circle. Gent one
repeats with lady four, bringing her back to join the circle left.
While the circle continues,
gent one steps into the center. All the ladies then go home to
swing partners. Each gent
takes a turn leading. Then the ladies each lead with her first
swing on the corner.

and swings his partner again while the other couples swing. Gent

chest, then splits the twos and travels
around either the gent or the lady. Gent one swings either the
gent or the lady then returns

- (Singing call.) Couple three join both hands and
raise an arch while couples two and four
advance to do the same with opposites, forming a tunnel. Couple
one, arms around
waists, passes through the tunnel, wheels at the end, pass back
through and wheels around
at home. As couple one wheels around, the others step back to
place. All see-saw corners,

then swings with partner in center while
others circle around them. They circle left, then right, then all
