SQUARE DO-SI-DO

- A filler for "Butterfly Twirl" below. Allemande right partner, allemande left corner, do-si-do
partner, see-saw corner, swing

- - - - meet her by the right in the middle of the hall - - - corner by the left - - - back to your partner with a do-si-do, back to your corner with a do-si-do - - - now swing that partner one little whirl and send her away for the corner girl - - - ~ Mack Samples
BUTTERFLY WHIRL
- All couples have nearest arm around partners waist. Couple one
promenades around
outside of set and back to place. Couple one steps into the center
and wheels as a couple
once or twice around, lady backing up and gent going forward.
Couple one advances to
couple three and joins free hands with them (couple three also
have nearest arms around
partner's waists.) Couple one backs up, pulling couple three into
the center a little. Couple
one then pushes couple three back to place and "divide the world":
Gent one goes left and
ccw around couple four (passing between cpls. three and four) to
place while lady one
goes right and cw around couple two (passing between cpls. three
and two.) Follow up
with Square Do-Si-Do above. [Glenville Fig. 3;

- First couple waltz the hall - - - now down the middle with a butterfly whirl - - - take her right down and bring her right back - - - take her right down and divide the world, the girl go gee and the gent go haw and (square do-si-do) meet her by the right in the middle of the hall - - - corner by the left - - - back to your partner with a do-si-do, back to your corner with a do-si-do - - - now swing that partner one little whirl and send her away for the corner girl - - - (figure begins again) same old boy and a brand new girl down the center with a butterfly whirl, etc. ~ Mack Samples
- Couple one, nearest arms around each other's
waists, step into the center and wheel as a
couple once or twice around, lady backing up and gent going
forward. Follow up with the

- First couple out in the middle with a butterfly whirl - - - turn partners by the right - - - corners by the left - - - back to your partner with a do-si-do - - - around your corner with a do-si-do - - - now swing that partner one little whirl and promenade the corner girl - - - same old boy and a brand new girl out in the middle with a butterfly whirl, etc. ~ Mack Samples

- Gent swings with lady of the couple to the right. Gent passes
behind partner and swings
with his corner, swings with his opposite lady and goes home to
swing with partner. Then
gents one AND two repeat the figure. Gents one, two and three
repeat and, finally, all
four gents repeat the figure. The entire sequence can then be
repeated for the ladies.
