FIGURE EIGHT
  1. Odds split the evens, odd lady crossing in front of odd gent to go ccw around even lady and odd gent going cw around even gent. Odds meet in front of evens and allemande right once around and a little more. Use that "little more" at the end of the allemande to send the odd lady back through the evens, odd gent then following. Odd lady goes cw around even gent and odd gent goes ccw around even lady. Odds meet in front of evens and allemande left once around. [Figure Eight; Napier] [That Old Figure Eight; Smith] [Gent Around the Gent; Levin] [Lady Around Lady p. 24; Rohrbough]

  2. Odds split the evens, odd lady crossing in front of odd gent to go ccw around even lady and odd gent going cw around even gent. Odds come around front and split evens again, odd lady in the lead. Odd lady goes cw around even gent and odd gent goes ccw around even lady. Swing corners, then swing partners. 4. Odds split the evens, odd lady crossing in front of odd gent to go ccw around even lady while odd gent follows her. When they come around front, odd gents stops at home while odd lady again splits evens. Odd lady goes cw around even gent and back to place. Swing corners, then partners. [Lady Around the Lady and the Gent Also; Hendrix] [Lady 'Round the Lady; Bonner]

Take your own and odds move on.

  5. All drop hands. Odd lady travels a figure eight around evens. She splits the evens, going ccw around the even lady, splits them again and goes cw around the even gent. The odd gent stays home throughout; Hendrix indicates that he dances at home, which I take to mean he flatfoots in place while his partner travels. [Lady 'Round the Lady; Bonner] [Lady 'Round the Lady Variation; Napier] [Lady Around the Lady and the Gent Solo; Hendrix]

  2. Odds join inside hands. Odd gent leading, odds split evens going ccw around even lady around to front. Odds do a small cw loop in front of evens and split the evens again. Go cw around even gent and back to place. [Wild Goose Chase - (I); Napier] [Wild Goose Chase; Bonner] [Figure Eight; Levin]

Odd gent now stays put while odd lady splits evens and goes cw around even gent and back to place. GENT FALL THROUGH
  1. All drop hands. Odd lady, partner following, goes ccw around the even couple and back to place. Odd gent, when he passes behind evens, slips between them and steps in front of his partner at home to take the lead. Odds again pass ccw around the evens. Odd gent continues all the way around both evens to place but odd lady, as she pass behind evens, slips between them to meet partner. 2. Similar to 1 above. All drop hands, evens join both hands and raise an arch. Odd lady, partner following, goes ccw around the even couple and back to place. Odd gent, when he passes behind evens, pass under their arch to meet partner at place. [Lady Around Two and the Gent Fall Thru; Hendrix]
